Troy D. Keen is an accomplished board director and retired financial services executive with three decades of experience guiding complex organizations through strategic transformation, cultural evolution, and enterprise-level risk and talent decisions. His career spans capital markets, global talent management, and organizational leadership across multiple business lines at Merrill Lynch and Wells Fargo.
Mr. Keen most recently served as Inclusion & Opportunity Executive within Wells Fargo’s HR Talent Management & Learning organization, where he advised the CEOs of the Commercial Bank, Corporate & Investment Bank, and Wealth & Investment Management divisions. In this capacity, he shaped division-wide strategies related to culture, leadership effectiveness, workforce opportunity, and organizational change— ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory expectations, and long-term enterprise health.
Previously, he was Managing Director and Chief Development & Engagement Officer for the Corporate & Investment Bank, overseeing global talent development, leadership pipelines, and employee engagement strategy. He led governance and accountability frameworks for undergraduate and postgraduate development programs, directed CIB’s DE&I Program Management—including the BOLD leadership initiative—and managed the Loudspeaker employee feedback platform. His remit also included oversight of centralized business management and administrative functions supporting CIB’s global operations.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Keen held client-facing roles in Public Finance, Leveraged Finance, and Real Estate Syndicated Finance, including co-managing the RESF Sales & Syndicate Desk with responsibility for distribution strategy, investor engagement, and credit execution for lead-arranged commercial real estate transactions.
Mr. Keen holds a B.B.A. in Marketing from the College of William & Mary, an M.B.A. in Corporate Finance and Real Estate from UNC Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, and a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
He brings extensive board and fiduciary experience through service with the William & Mary Business School Foundation, Chambers-McCain Foundation, Charlotte Institute for Faith & Work, Urban League of Central Carolinas (former Chair), Thornhill Rites of Passage Foundation, and the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Corporate Advisory Board, among others. His board work reflects strengths in governance, strategic planning, financial stewardship, leadership development, and community impact. Mr. Keen resides in Charlotte with his wife, Jennifer, and they are proud parents of college students Joy (Spelman) and Troy, Jr. (Georgetown).
